BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Y.Bhg. Datin Shahrizan bte Abdullah is a Non-independent Non-executive Director of MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad (“MIDF Amanah”). She was appointed to the Board on 1 February 1986. She is the Chairperson of the Board of MIDF Amanah. She holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from University Malaya. She previously held the position of Senior Manager, Corporate Services, Permodalan Nasional Berhad. She is also a director of Commerce Life Assurance Berhad, Choo Bee Metal Industries Berhad and several private companies.

Sharkawi Alis is an Independent Non-executive Director of MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad. He was appointed to the Board on 8 June 2005. He is a Barristerat-Law (Middle Temple) London and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1984. He has served various capacities in the Judicial and Legal Service, Government of Malaysia including positions as Magistrate, President of Sessions Court Kuala Lumpur, Senior Assistant Registrar of High Court Kuala Lumpur, Deputy Public Prosecutor,Deputy Head of Prosecution of Attorney General’s Chambers, Deputy Registrar of Companies and Senior Federal Counsel of Inland Revenue Department Malaysia. He also served as the Group Legal Advisor, Malaysian Mining Corporation Berhad, Director, Market Supervision, Securities Commission before assuming the post of Director, Corporate Resources Division of Securities Commission until his retirement in 2003. He is currently Chairman of the Board of MNRB Holdings Berhad and Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad. He is a director of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad, MIDF Property Berhad and several private companies.

Datuk Mohd Najib Hj Abdullah is a Non-independent Non-executive Director of MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad. He was appointed to the Board on 18 August 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics (Magnacum Laude) and a Masters’ degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Illinois, USA. He had served as the Management Accountant with Hewlett Packard Kuala Lumpur, Chief of Staff/Country Financial Controller with Citibank N.A, Head, Malaysian Business Group, Corporate and Investment Banking, Citibank Berhad and Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of Malaysia National Insurance Berhad. He is currently the Group Managing Director of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad. He sits on the Board of MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad, MIDF Amanah Capital Berhad, MIDF Property Berhad and ACR Retakaful SEA Berhad. He is also a Commissioner of PT Miel Nusantara Development (a company incorporated in Medan, Indonesia) and a director of ACR Re Takaful Middle East Asia, Bahrain.

Y.Bhg. Dato’ Kalsom Abdul Rahman is a Non-independent Non-executive Director of MIDF Amanah. She was appointed to the Board on 21 May 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from the University of Malaya and a Masters degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Oregon, USA. In addition, during her tenure of service with the private sector, she has also attended Graduate Business and Management courses at the University of Stanford and the Harvard Business School, as well as courses in policy formulations, international and economic relations and international trade and investments related areas organised by the various international organizations such as UNIDO, UNCTAD, ITC, WIPO, World Bank, WTO etc. She has served in various capacities in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (“MITI”) including as the Minister Counsellor (Economic Affairs) to the Mission of Malaysia to the European Union at Brussels, Belgium, the Chief Executive Officer of the Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (“SMIDEC”) and her post before she retired from the public service was the Deputy Secretary-General (Industry) of MITI. Subsequently she became the Chairman of SMIDEC until October 2006. Currently she is a director of several companies such as Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad, MISC Berhad, Lion Forest Industries Berhad, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad and Chairperson of the Board of MIDF Property Berhad. She also sits on the board of several private companies.

Abdul Rahim Abdul Hamid is an Independent Non-executive Director of MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad. He was appointed to the Board on 8 June 2007. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He has served various capacities in Coopers & Lybrand including positions as Audit Manager, Director, Partner and Managing Partner/CEO and was Deputy Executive Chairman of Price Waterhouse Coopers. He is currently the President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is a director of MIMOS Berhad, Proton Holdings Berhad and Petra Energy Berhad. He also sits on the board of several private companies.

Scott Lim Kok Seng is the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Investment Officer of MIDF Amanah. He joined MIDF Amanah in September 2008 and was appointed to the Board on 28 October 2008. He graduated from University of Wisconsin in Madison, USA with a distinction in Finance. He also heads the Investment division of MIDF Amanah and has more than 17 years experience in managing Malaysian and regional equity portfolios and unit trust funds. He was previously attached to CMS Dresdner Asset Management for 10 years as a Fund Manager and subsequently appointed as Chief Investment Officer in 2004. His financial market experience also includes 5 years at Pheim Asset Management and Premier Capital Management.
