MIDF CELEBRATES GOLDEN JUBILEE WITH EMPLOYEES
Kuala Lumpur, 2 April 2010 – A trip down memory lane set the stage for a golden jubilee celebration organised for the employees of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF).
MIDF was established on 30 March 1960 to provide financial assistance to small and medium enterprises whilst simultaneously helping to assist the growth of the Country’s manufacturing industry. A simple celebration for its employees was held yesterday at Menara MIDF in Jalan Raja Chulan to commemorate the special occasion attended by its employees and members of the Board of Directors.
Employees were treated to a lunch spread reflecting 1 Malaysia. An extra treat for employees was the 50th anniversary cake. A video capturing nostalgic moments from a collection of photographs from past events, memorabilia and inspiring comments from past and current employees was also shown after lunch much to the excitement of everyone who attended the celebration.
In his speech, YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Mahmood Taib, the Chairman said, that teamwork is an important ingredient in MIDF’s success and simultaneously, urged the employees to continue the legacy set by past leaders of the Company whilst bringing it to greater heights.
“2010 is a special year for us as it marks MIDF’s establishment in the industry for half a century, and this is quite an achievement for a home-grown company. Our goal moving forward is to continue working hard to ensure that the Company remains relevant for the future years,” commented MIDF Group Managing Director, Encik Mohd. Najib Hj. Abdullah.
The celebration began on the eve of the anniversary, 29 March, with each employee receiving a red apple at the end of the day as a gesture of appreciation, while a free breakfast welcomed employees the morning after the anniversary. The employees will be feted with free meals through out the whole week of celebrations.
Mohd Najib further commented, “This is the Management’s way of showing employees that their efforts and contributions are appreciated. Other programmes have been planned to celebrate the Company’s golden jubilee in 2010 and we look forward to continue our journey into the next 50 years.”
