MIDF GROUP ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF ZAINAL IZLAN ZAINAL ABIDIN AT AMANAH SSCM ASSET MANAGEMENT BERHAD

KUALA LUMPUR, Wednesday, 28 June 2006 - Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (“MIDF”) is pleased to announce the appointment of ZAINAL IZLAN ZAINAL ABIDIN as Chief Executive Officer / Director of Amanah SSCM Asset Management Berhad (“Amanah SSCM”) effective 1 June 2006.

Prior to this appointment, Zainal Izlan served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Amanah SSCM since 1999. He joined Amanah SSCM (then known as Seacorp-Schroder Capital Management Berhad) in 1993 after three years’ experience in corporate banking at Citibank Malaysia. In 1994, he was seconded to Schroder Investment Management Limited in London to be part of the team managing South East Asian equity portfolios for Schroder’s North American and European clients. He returned to Kuala Lumpur two years later and managed portfolios on behalf of Malaysian institutional clients.

Zainal Izlan obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Honours) degree, majoring in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, USA in 1990. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and was Chairman of the Malaysian Society of Financial Analysts from 2001 to 2005.
