Kuala Lumpur, 20 April 2012 — Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF) will provide free health checks at its booth during the Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia 2012 (MSAM).
MIDF is working closely with Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Sabah to bring about this corporate social responsibility initiative. The health department will conduct complimentary health checks for all visitors to MSAM from between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for the entire duration of this annual event.
During past editions of MSAM, MIDF had also carried out corporate social responsibility activities during MSAM. Last year, MIDF worked with UiTM’s Faculty of Art and Design to hold an art workshop during MSAM in Ipoh, Perak. MIDF also contributed and presented to underprivileged schoolchildren with school necessities in Kuantan, Melaka and Johor Bahru.
This year, MIDF wanted to make a difference to more members of the public, hence the idea of providing a health check counter service for the visitors of MSAM. In addition, MIDF is also contributing school necessities to 111 primary school children from around Kota Kinabalu.
“We normally tend to take our health for granted; so we thought it would be a good idea to provide this free service since MSAM will be attracting a large number of visitors” said MIDF’s Group Managing Director, Datuk Mohd. Najib Hj. Abdullah. “The health check is complimentary and we hope that it will encourage visitors to spend a few minutes at the counter. Prevention is better than cure, and wealth is pointless if you don’t have good health to enjoy the fruits of your labour.”
The health check will include checking the visitors’ blood pressure, determining the body mass index (BMI) as well as the sugar level in the body system. Visitors of MSAM from the age of 18 and above are welcome to drop by the MIDF booth for this complimentary health check at Kompleks Sukan Kota Kinabalu from 20th – 28th April.
