MIDF’s Development Finance Division provides medium- and long-term Shariah-based financing to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as to large corporations, for the establishment of new projects, expansion, modernisation and relocation programmes of established businesses in the manufacturing, manufacturing-related services and services sectors in Malaysia.
The primary objective of providing this financing to business entrepreneurs is to promote the industrial development of the national economy. Industrial and commercial landed properties, machinery and equipment and commercial motor vehicles are financed by the Division through term and industrial hire purchase financing as well as leasing facilities, and working capital requirements are financed through term financing, revolving credit and factoring facilities.
The Government of Malaysia has designated MIDF, being an agency under the Ministry of International Trade And Industry, to process applications for financing under financial assistance programmes which charge relatively lower profit rates, to disburse funds under these programmes to approved applications and to manage these funds, including the supervision of assisted projects.
